Ensuring Precision in Biotechnology Manufacturing with Condair Dehumidification Systems

Evik Diagnostics Innovations, a leader in biotechnology, specializes in diagnostic assay lyophilization, producing precise spherical volumes of lyophilized assay reagents (DxSpheres). Operating out of a 9,000 sq/ft facility—including 2,600 sq/ft of humidity-controlled production and research space—Evik faced a critical challenge: maintaining ultra-low humidity environments essential for product integrity.

The production of DxSpheres demands a consistent relative humidity (RH) level of below 10% in specialized dry rooms. These stringent conditions prevent moisture reabsorption, which could compromise the reagents‘ structural stability and performance.

Evik‘s existing dehumidification systems did not deliver the reliability needed for consistent operation. With plans to expand, the company required robust and responsive systems capable of maintaining precise humidity levels across their facilities.

Our Solution

After evaluating various options, Evik chose the Condair DA 400/208 dehumidifier units. Condair‘s local presence and support stood out, especially compared to previous units from another manufacturer, which lacked responsive service. The Condair units met all operational demands, providing stability and efficiency. Coordination between Evik, Condair, and subcontractors ensured smooth integration with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.

The Condair dehumidifier units have been operational for 2 to 3 years, delivering consistent, low-humidity conditions with minimal maintenance. Their superior performance has eliminated previous environmental fluctuations, enhancing operational reliability.

The impact of the Condair system on Evik‘s operations has been transformative:
